  • Ply. (verb) --- To travel regularly along a particular route.
e.g. :- (Buses ply regularly to and from these places.)
  • Take on.(ph. verb) --- To decide to do something , to agree to be responsible for something.
e.g. :- (I can't take on any extra work.)
  • Flay. (verb) --- To criticize somebody.
e.g. :- (Opposition party flayed the schemes launched by central govt.)
  • Scribe. (noun) --- A person who made copies of written documents before printing was invented.
e.g. :- (A scribe was appointed to imitate the articles.)
  • Respite. (noun) --- A short break or escape from something difficult or unpleasant.
e.g. :- (The drug brought a brief respite from the pain.)
  • Philanthropist. (noun) --- A rich person who helps the poor and those in need , especially by giving money.
e.g. :- (Ratan Tata is widely known as a philanthropist.)
  • Prosthesis. (noun) --- An artificial part of the body .e.g. a leg , an eye or tooth.
e.g. :- (I was amazed at his prosthetic arms.)
  • Modality.(noun) --- The particular way in which something exists.
e.g. :- (They are researching a different modality of investment for the economic growth.)
  • Daunting. (adj.) --- To make someone nervous and less confident.
e.g. :- ( He was a brave man but he felt daunted by his friends.)
  • Stagnant. (adj.) --- Static , not movable.
e.g. :- (Stagnant mindset is very necessary to focus on studies.)
